Love the Overlook!

Stopping at a scenic overlook while on my way home could have been considered a waste of time.

Instead, it was a moment of peaceful reprieve from a very busy “running around” day.

The little parking area looked out over a spectacular view of the river that meandered through hills and meadows below.

When I consciously took a deep slow breathe, the awareness of natures beauty helped bring me back to a calm and energized place.

Stop for a moment, wherever you are in your day, and offer yourself affectionate attention of loving kindness.

Take a breathe and don’t overlook the fact that you are learning to love your endearing self….which is never a waste of time!

Be well and stay that way,

Gena

Love the Oil Change!

Your auto manual suggests that you change the oil in your car on a regular basis. The reasons for an oil change do not interest me, I just know my car will last longer and run better if I do it .

I love my little red Mazda and it is my intention to keep her humming for a long time.. The dealership sees me every 5,000 miles and occasionally they throw in an oil change for free!

Interestingly enough, a bright pink post card arrived today from my doctor. In big letters across the top it said: “It’s time to schedule your routine visit.”

The medical community knows that we do not pay much attention to our own life mileage unless there is something wrong. You remember to change the oil in your automobile, but do you ignore making that regular check-up for your health and well being?.

While having the oil changed by the mechanics, I called and made the appointment for that timely visit with my physician. I want to keep humming along  and certainly out live my little red car.

Love yourself enough to have a consultation and check up with your health care professional. Remember you are precious and it is vital that you become your own best friend.

Just do it, make your appointment. The best health care is: “Excellent Self Care”

Smiles, Gena

Love the Change!

In my world, pussy willows are a delightful sign of spring. They arrive in late February and mark the change of seasons that will bring rains, mud, buds, and warmer weather.

Change happens, it is inevitable! Sometimes change can be very challenging, and often change is a release from what is holding you back.

Falling in love with yourself, is the foundation for a wonderland adventure towards personal growth and well being.

What I enjoy most about my work, is watching how chance can help people flourish, prosper and realize their dreams.

You are not alone in creating the change that will get you where you want to go. I am here for you and want to be able to help.

You can always contact me and now there is an opportunity to come join me at the workshop on Monday night April 12, 2010 at Pazzo Ristorante Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, MA 7:30pm to 9:00pm.

I will be there with my dear friend, Sheila Magalahes, Director of HeartSong Yoga. We will share with you our collective wisdom and orchestrate an evening of inspiration, well-being and fun.

Remember….. the best health care is “excellent self care”.

Now, take that thought and do something special for yourself!

Smiles,

Gena

Love the Lay-Over!

My visit with my granddaughters in Budapest, Hungary was simply delightful.

Even though it was sad to say good-bye, the drive to the airport was filled with stories and laughter and pink explosions from bubble gum.

It was a shock to find out that, because of a flight delay, I would have to fly to Zurich, Switzerland, spend the night, have another four hour lay over in Germany and finally catch the plane to Boston.

I had no control over the fact that I could not get home in time to “do” everything that was waiting for me.

I would have to spend an unexpected twenty-four hour lay-over in a strange place with nothing to do but “be”.

Hummm….What a way to learn the lessons I want to teach you!

We are really good at “Human Doing” and need practice at “Human Being”!

Indeed, I did the best I could. NOTHING! I selfishly indulged myself, without feeling guilty.

I made the lay-over fun by changing my disappointment to an attitude of loving gratitude and took myself out to dinner.

If you can’t change the circumstances around you, change your attitude of mind. Create your own “Lay-Over”, find a new way to make it fun and take your lovely self out on a date!

Smiles, Gena
