Love the Storm!
While I was up too late, working on
the computer, a horrifying rain
storm blew through the area
around midnight.
In less than an hour, trees and
power lines dropped like leaves
falling to the ground. When the
lights went out and the computer
sounded off, I was sure it Kansas,
in the middle of Dorothy’s
tornado.
Destruction happened quickly and
without warning. There was a
whirlwind of debris all over the
neighborhood.
In the morning light and the calm of
the next day, we were able to
assess the damage and put things
back in balance.
In the wake of the fury, we could only
wait for the storm to pass before we
could make things right.
Have you had the experience of an
emotional storm rise inside you,
without warning, and throw you off
center?
In that emotional fury, did you
choose to express the energy as an
angry outburst,a disappointing encounter,
an irritating look, a frustrating
conversation, an annoying attitude
or even a violent attack?
If you wait for the storm to pass, just
wait it out, the emotional energy will
move THROUGH you rather than USING
you to do damage to those
you love and cherish.
Practice being your own best friend and
wait with yourself until the tempest moves on.
Linger in a place of patience, compassion,
love, gratitude and forgiveness. The energy
will calm, your thinking will clear, your attitude
will become kind, your heart will open and you
will make a different choice of behavior.
There will be no mess to clean up in the morning.
Practice the self love you are learning and
remember to be your own best friend.
Be well and stay that way,
Gena

Love the Mirror
When you see yourself in the mirror,
are you willing to talk to yourself,
out loud?
When you actually look at your reflection,
have you ever just smiled and winked at the
face looking back?
What thoughts run through your mind?
Are you willing to be the one to give
yourself the pep talk rather than waiting
for others to do it for you?
Take a look at Jessica and her enthusiasm
for demonstrating what being in love
with yourself LOOKS like. We are always
in a state of remembering the skills of
“Excellent Self Care”!
After watching the video, notice the smile
on your face. You are beginning to
understand what being your own
best friend actually FEELS like.

Love the Dandelions!
At any given time there might be brilliant
yellow dandelions decorating your lawn.
Almost by magic, and within just a few days,
the flowers become perfect spheres of fuzz
just waiting to catch the wind.
Check this one out! http://bit.ly/aa0vrt
When was the last time you blew
apart the parachuting seeds from the
top of a transformed dandelion?
The act of using your breath to send
such delicate intention out into the world
can be inspiring and uplifting.
Forget the fact that you are pollinating weeds
in your front yard. Believe it or not,
dandelions can enrich your lawn
and be beneficial to your health.
Go ahead and blow! Have the wonder of a child
and watch the seedlings take flight as they
spin and twirl in space.

Recognize that there are precious parts of
you filled with love, compassion, gratitude and joy.
When you allow those pieces of your character
to take flight, you are enriching yourself
as well as others in your world.
Perhaps like the dandelion, we are in a continual
state of transformation. Use your breath as the
vehicle for lightness of heart and joy in your life.
Just BREATHE!!

Love those Bones!
Last week I took an unexpected spill and
bruised my hand and fingers. This week gravity
demanded another visit and I actually tripped
out the door!
My ankle folded under me and I was sure it
was broken. UGH!! The thought of breaking my
skeleton had me in a temporary panic.
BREATHE! BREATHE! BREATHE!
The voice in my head shouted.
Thankfully the emergency visit to the clinic
and x-rays confirmed it was just a very bad sprain.
I love my bones!
I take care of them and have faith they will
carry me, gracefully, into my seasoned years.

Design an affirmation for yourself. Make it personal,
positive, present tense and filled with emotionally
charged words. If you would like some support, please
email me and I would be happy to assist.
Loving all the parts of you is a safety plan for
protecting and ensuring your health, well being and preciousness.

Love the Gravity!
Things fall. Is gravity the culprit or Cupid? Trees topple, apples drop, stars descend, rain comes down and even people tumble.
Walking across a parking lot the other day, I fell. There was no slippery spot, no uneven pavement, nothing heavy in my arms and I was not in a hurry.
One moment I was walking merrily along and the next I was kissing the ground.
Nothing broken, just some badly bruised fingers and an embarrassed self image.
Every time I feel the swollen black and blue of my hand, I am grateful that gravity gracefully took me down virtually unscathed.
Being your own best friend is a practice of being gentle, easy and compassionate with yourself.
Don’t be too hard on yourself when you slip up, make a mistake or forget something.
Pretend that falling in love with yourself is actually the gravity which support you and your own specialness.
Loving yourself unconditionally is just the beginning of this journey. You will come to understand that you really are precious and there is nothing that can ever take you down.
Be well and stay that way,
Gena
